Having A Bad Day? Turn It Around In 2 Simple Steps!

Everyone has bad days. It begins when you wake up in the morning and you can't seem to find the right outfit or fix your hair the right way. You get stuck in traffic and become late for class or work. Small things going wrong throughout your day can make you feel overwhelmed and can cause stress.

When I begin to feel as if I am having a bad day, I turn my day around in two simple and easy steps.

1. Pray
Take a minute to say a prayer, or to simply meditate. Think on past situations that you have been through or something that someone else is going through. Realize that what you are going through now seems tiny compared to those situations. Ask God to restore your joy, turn your day around and give you strength. 

2. Do Something That Makes You Happy
Take some time to do something that you love doing. Listen to your favorite song. Play a game on your cell phone. Draw, write, or sing. If you have time,  watch your favorite movie or treat yourself to a nice lunch or dessert. Do something that will temporarily provide you an escape from your day.

By following these two steps, you will gain power to take back control of any situation that is hindering you from being happy today. And if you have done the above and still feel stressed, repeat Step 1 as much as needed!

Remember that God's plan for your life far exceeds the circumstances of your day. "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." (Romans 8:18) Be blessed.
