DIY Bath Scrub and Conditioner!

I am so excited to share these two recipes with you!  They both turned out really well and are super easy to make.

I was in search of a recipe for a DIY conditioner; something that was a easy on the pockets and easy to make.  I found this one on and decided to give it a try. It did not really do anything to enhance my curls, however, it does make your hair soft and easy to de-tangle.

1 jar of Gerber banana baby food
1/2 cup of coconut cream or milk (I used coconut milk)
2 Tbsp of honey
2 Tbsp of Avocado oil
A few drops of essential oils for fragrance (peppermint or vanilla works well!)

After you have mixed together the above ingredients, apply to your hair in sections and place a shower cap over your hair. Anytime that I know that I need a really good conditioning treatment, and because my hair is always so thick, I usually put my conditioner on at night, and rinse it out in the morning.

This next recipe is DEFINITELY one to try. It is an easy brown sugar and honey body scrub. I originally tried the recipe on my hands, and then my face. I have since used it as a body scrub. My only suggestion would be to make sure that you rinse really well. Also, it is an exfoliant; so if you use it on your face, make sure to not scrub so hard.

3/4 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 cup ground oatmeal (not instant)
1/4 cup pure honey
1 cup oil of choice (the writer of this recipe says that they use jojoba, grapeseed, or sweet almond; I used coconut oil)
1/4 tsp essential oil or fragrance oil of choice (peppermint or vanilla works well. You may also use vanilla extract if you wish)

This body scrub truly leaves your hands feeling silky and smooth. Add a little ribbon and a note to a mason jar and it would make a great gift as well.
