'Little Black Book of Success: Laws of Leadership For Black Women' BOOK REVIEW!
First, let me apologize for my negligence that I have given to my website. To my defense, I have been SUPER busy! Like I always state, no one is perfect, but I am the perfect example of that. I am still trying to learn how to balance out all of my activities, school, church and my website. I do, however, promise to try just a little bit harder and post more in the future!
Now, ON WITH THE BOOK REVIEW! (:
For those of you who follow me, you know that I have been trying to tackle the list of '50 Good Books Every Black Woman Should Read.' (See list here)
Although during my first update, I told you all that I ordered "One Day My Soul Just Opened Up" by Iyanla Vanzant, I recently ordered and started "The Little Black Book of Success." As soon as I read the first page, I could not stop! I finished the book in 24 hours!
Although I have had experience in leadership positions, I still learned A LOT from this book. A few of the topics covered, were things that I already knew, but just shone in a different light. This book is not just a book about leadership. The authors do a great job of breaking down leadership principles and explaining how they pertain to black women.
No matter what stage of your career you are in, I encourage every African American woman and woman of color to read this book. I promise that you will learn something. Take notes. Gift the book to a sister. Re-visit the book whenever you need to. This is probably one of the most beneficial books that I have ever read.
Happy reading queens!
